Our Pie/Pea & Gravy dinners with a dessert are £12.50 per head (minimum of 2 people, no maximum)
We know that activity filled days at Haddon Grove can be exhausting, and at the end of that who wants to cook? Especially when you are supposed to be relaxing on holiday.
At Haddon Grove we have a simple solution.......
You can order one of our delicious award winning Homemade Pies. They come with various fillings: Steak & Ale; Steak & Kidney;Minty Lamb; Chicken or Cheese and Onion. Our secret is the locally sourced filling for all our pies and pie pastry. Our pies are truly delicious and can be made for any serving size. Each order is served with original "Northern Mushy Peas" and homemade Gravy to match your pie choice.
Please note, as our pies are homemade, the more notice you give us the better chance we can give you, exactly the pie(s) you want. So if you know that you have a long journey to reach us, or have booked a day packed with activities, please let us know in advance, and your Pie(s) of choice will be waiting for you.
Each Pie & Pea supper comes with a delicious home made desert.
SHOPPING & DELIVERIES
The Co-op in the centre of Bakewell. The market is on a Monday, which can be great fun, but also means it can be a good place to avoid unless you are visiting specifically for the market.
Buxton (10 miles): This is a more substantial town, formerly a Victorian spa. Lots of good shops, including a large Waitrose and a Morrisons, both of these deliver. If you choose to take advantage of these delivery services, please ensure that you choose a delivery slot for when you are guaranteed to have arrived at your cottage.
Matlock and Matlock Bath (also a former spa). Gullivers Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham are very popular attractions. Small local shops with a large Sainsburys on the A6 from Bakewell.
Ashbourne (20-30 minutes): Market town with an attractive central square. Good range of shops including antiques and arts/crafts. Great for a wander and then a visit to a teashop.
Peak District Deli is an innovative, unique Peak District company focusing on the exceptional quality food and drinks produced in the area. They offer a convenient online shopping and delivery service through their website, along with a tailor made private dining option to take the hard work out of your stay and make your special occasion one to remember. Make sure to look out for their popular regular pop-up supper clubs held in locations across the Peak District too.
